The True Country of Origin update\u00a0for the Safe Pet Treats app is here!<\/p>\n

We’re happy to announce that the True Country of Origin update is now live! Be sure to update the Safe Pet Treats app so that you can start identifying where your pet food is really made.<\/p>\n

The Safe Pet Treats app will still continue to tell you if the product has been recalled or if it contains harmful ingredients by scanning the product’s barcode and now it will also tell you the True Country of Origin!<\/p>\n

Why did we add this feature?<\/strong>
\nSome pet food companies use labels that say Made or Manufactured in the U.S. This implies that the ingredients are also from the U.S. but this, unfortunately, is very misleading. In truth, very few companies are both U.S. Made and Sourced.<\/p>\n

Although there are ingredient sources other than the U.S. or North American that can be of high quality, verified and inspected, in a lot of cases there is a lack of transparency and that is why we felt it so important to add this information to our app.<\/p>\n

The details of this update.<\/strong>
\nFor products made in the U.S. and Canada, we broke them down to include the ingredient source. All other countries will only list the country name.<\/p>\n

For example, if the product was made in China, the scan result will show Made in China. But if the product was made in the U.S. or Canada, the results will show one of these options:<\/p>\n
