The recall was prompted by a positive test confirming <em>Listeria monocytogenes <\/em>in Chewy\u2019s Chicken Freeze-Dried Dinner Patties for Dogs, 15 ounce, Lot #111\u201315, during routine surveillance testing by the Maryland Department of Agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>There have been no reported pet or human illnesses associated with this recall.<\/p>\n<p>Listeria is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.<\/p>\n<p>As a precautionary measure, Stella &amp;
